In Forza Horizon 6, the progression system follows a structured "zero to hero" model, where you start as a tourist and work your way up through the ranks of the Horizon Festival. The journey begins with the Horizon Qualifiers and is driven by the Wristband Tiers system, which indicates your rank and unlocks access to faster cars and more difficult challenges.
Horizon Qualifiers: Entry into the Festival
Before you can officially join the Horizon Festival, you must prove your skills through a series of initial events, known as Horizon Qualifiers.
The Tourist Phase: When you first step into Forza Horizon 6, you have no reputation. You’re a "Festival Tourist," and your journey to becoming a Horizon pro begins from scratch.
Qualifiers & Invitationals: The first hurdle involves completing the Horizon Qualifiers, a set of entry-level races that introduce you to the world of Forza Horizon 6. These races are designed to test your basic driving skills across various terrains.
Unlocking the First Tier: Once you finish the Horizon Qualifiers, you’ll be invited to participate in the Horizon Invitational. Successfully completing this event earns you your first wristband, the Yellow Wristband, officially welcoming you into the Horizon Festival.
Wristband Tiers: Rank and Progression
After earning your first wristband, the real progression begins. Forza Horizon 6 features a tiered progression system with seven wristbands in total. As you move up the tiers, you unlock faster cars, tougher races, and additional challenges.
The Seven Tiers: The wristbands follow a color-coded order:
Yellow
Green
Blue
Pink
Orange
Purple
Gold
Each tier offers its own set of rewards, both in terms of the cars you can use and the races available to you.
How to Rank Up: Advancing through the wristbands involves earning points (PTS) by completing various activities in the game:
Festival Events: These are curated races such as Road, Dirt, and Cross Country, designed to test your versatility.
PR Stunts & Skills: Activities like speed traps, drift zones, and skill chains reward you for creative driving and precision.
Wristband Events: At the end of each tier’s progression, you’ll need to complete a “Spectacular Event,” such as a Showcase or a Horizon Rush obstacle course, to unlock the next tier. These events are a big challenge and are meant to test everything you’ve learned so far.
Content Gating: Unlike earlier Forza games, where you could access top-tier cars immediately, Forza Horizon 6 locks high-performance car classes behind the wristband tiers. For example, you won’t be able to race with hypercars until you reach the Purple Wristband, which comes later in the game.
The Final Goal: Horizon Legend
The ultimate goal of the wristband progression system is to become a Horizon Legend.
Gold Wristband: Reaching the final tier, the Gold Wristband, is the pinnacle of Forza Horizon 6. This tier signifies that you have become one of the elite drivers in the game.
Legend Island: Once you earn the Gold Wristband, you unlock access to Legend Island, an exclusive region that offers unique tracks, exploration areas, and the game’s longest race, the iconic "Goliath" event.
The Horizon Qualifiers and Wristband Tiers in Forza Horizon 6 create a rewarding progression system that challenges players to prove their skills while steadily unlocking more powerful cars and exciting content. From your humble beginnings as a tourist to becoming a Horizon Legend, each step of the way offers new experiences and challenges that keep the game fresh and exciting.
