Description:
The Isolation Puck represents years of our studies and experiments. Many audiophiles may have already discovered a sonic difference in their system, when they place a glass, a wooden block, a granite shelf, or some other materials under their components. Like a color palette, the combination is endless. Sometimes the result is good, and sometimes not so good. To understand the reason behind this, one must understand resonance.
Resonance occurs widely in nature, as well as in our audio equipments. Many sounds we hear, such as when hard objects of metal, glass, or wood are stuck, are caused by brief resonant vibrations in the object. In research of the material we choose, we have tested and looked into great number of different material, its resonance and its synergy with others.
We have found carbon fiber to be the magical material, as it has similar earth resonance; and combination with stainless steel presents a very natural soundstage with precision and transparency. The imaging, focus, and dynamics are greatly improved without any coloration.
Features:
The name C-S comes from carbon fiber (CFRP), and high-grade polished stainless steel. The combination is the result of our years of research on the material resonance and resonance synergy. Coincidentally, these two materials are also commonly found on high-end turntables / tone arms where resonance is carefully calculated and controlled in an analog playback.
In the search of our perfect combination, we had CS-1, as our proto-type project. Hundreds of combinations we tried; the result is our CS-2 and CS-3. Both CS-2 and CS-3 have been mechanically tuned for our perfection.
The Carbon Fiber we choose is the real Carbon Fiber reinforced plastic (CFRP). One can easily see the uniform layers of carbon fiber composite laminates on our each and every 3.5 mm CFRP. Each carbon fiber pad is precisely cut and pressure pressed into the stainless steel body. There is virtually no-weight limit on our isolation puck.
Applications:
The CS-2 isolation puck can be used as a spike saucer or placed directly under a component. Due to its virtually no-weight limit design, the CS-2 isolation puck works exceptionally well under all level of components, such as speakers, subwoofers, racks, amplifiers, etc. We do recommend CS-2 isolation puck be used especially under source components – CD player / preamplifier, or turntable.
The CS-3 isolation puck is designed specifically for amplifiers or power components. Due to its height, we do NOT recommend CS-3 under rack, turntable, speakers, etc.
