Description:
The complete digital music player
The SACD 30n is built to meet all the requirements of the modern audiophile who wants to combine a large digital music collection with the leading online music services. The Marantz SACD 30n marries a classic premium SA-CD / CD player with a modern digital source’s hub/preamp. It plays hi-resolution files including FLAC HD and DSD from your home network, local USB storage, and online sources such as streaming services and Internet radio. It features HEOS streaming, voice and multi-room support, and DAC functionality, as well as Apple AirPlay 2 and Bluetooth integration. The SACD 30n is futureproofed, accepting file formats all the way up to 11.2Mhz quad-DSD and 384kHz/32-bit PCM via USBB/USD-DAC.
The most musical, accurate, detailed sound
The SACD 30n is built on its own discrete circuit board, the Hyper-Dynamic Amplifier Module, or HDAM. By custom-curating hundreds of individual parts, rather than adopting an off-the-shelf solution, Marantz HDAM technology significantly outperforms standard integrated circuits to create the unique musicality you always expect from Marantz.
Exquisite sound tuning
The SACD 30n continues the renowned heritage of exquisite Marantz components. The SACD 30n is tuned by the Marantz Sound Master, who channeled his passion, experience, and extraordinary ear into every aspect of its unsurpassed design
Transport Mechanism
A history of excellence. Marantz launched its first CD player – the original CD-63 – in 1982. We’ve continued to innovate ever since. At the heart of the SACD 30n is a new, innovative SACDM-3L transport mechanism, engineered solely for the best possible performance when playing SA-CDs, CDs, and music stored on data discs. This new mechanism promises exceptional sound quality from conventional CD and SACD discs and allows listeners to create their own high-resolution audio compilation discs using a computer DVD burner. While the SACD/CD source is not being used, the power supply for the disc drive is turned off to avoid noise or interference.
Legacy system connectivity
The SACD 30n integrates the Marantz Musical Mastering digital-to-analog converter. The optical and coaxial digital inputs for existing source components support files up to 192kHz/24bit. The SACD 30n also comes with a USB-B asynchronous input for direct connection to a computer. The USB- B input is compatible with PCM and DXD music files at up to 384kHz/32bit, as well as DSD2.8MHz, DSD5.6MHz and DSD11.2MHz.
Marantz Musical Mastering
DSD is the heart of Marantz musical sound reproduction for digital sources in the SACD 30n. PCM and DXD inputs are up-converted to DSD at 11.2MHz using the proprietary MMM-Stream converter within the player. The high-frequency signal produced is processed by the unique MMMConversion stage, used in place of a conventional DAC, to generate the analog output. The MMMStream section of the process replaces the oversampling filters normally used in digital to analog conversion and allows the implementation of the Marantz Musical Mastering filtering. Two system clocks ensure the most accurate up-conversion of the incoming signal, whether it’s from disc or the digital inputs, ranging from 44.1kHz to 384kHz. This unique configuration is tuned with, and for, ultimate sound quality reproduction with a highly accurate signal using dual 32bits floating point DSP for MMM-Stream. Sigma Delta Modulation allows a pure DSD-standard signal to be passed to the MMM-conversion section in the form of a very high-frequency stream of pulses. The design of the DSD to-analog filter feeds into the Marantz HDAM (Hyper Dynamic Amplifier Modules) in the output stage for optimal sound quality.
Independent variable output terminal
The SACD 30n provides a separate low noise variable level connection output to active speakers, or a power amplifier direct input, letting you use it as a multi-source digital player/pre-amplifier. Volume can be controlled from the remote handset or via apps. When not in use, the preamp power supply is turned off to avoid any noise or interference.
Carefully curated components
Marantz has built a lauded reputation for choosing the best-possible components for its products. Extensive tuning has long been the secret of fine-sounding Marantz players. Marantz engineers select and optimize each component through careful listening in dedicated Marantz facilities in Europe and Japan. During the development stage, every part is carefully selected, tested, and validated by the Marantz Sound Master to ensure you get that perfect Marantz sound every time you listen.
More than enough inputs and outputs
The SACD 30n features digital audio inputs – one coaxial and two optical – as well as digital audio output – in this case, one coaxial and one optical. It also comes equipped with two line-level outputs, one fixed and one variable, plus one USB-A and one USB-B output as well as a network RJ45 and an RS232 for external control.
HEOS Built-in
Enjoy your favourite music in any room of your home for a wireless, whole-home audio experience. Play the same song in every room or select a different song for each connected room. Enjoy music from Spotify, Amazon HD, TIDAL, and more, or your local collection.
High-quality headphone amplifier
Enjoy music directly from your headphones with a completely redesigned, high-quality headphone stage that features a dedicated amplifier module using exclusive Marantz HDAM-SA2 circuitry with exceptional SNR (Signal-Noise-Ratio). To work with a wider variety of headphones, the gain factor can be adjusted to three established presets (Low/Mid/High), making it possible to drive low to high impedance headphones seamlessly. If no headphone is connected to the unit, the headphone amplifier is turned off to avoid noise or interference.
