Being an old school I am, I have always against the idea of adding a subwoofer.  Despite the advice from Focal, I was always reluctant to add a subwoofer into a pure 2 channel system.  Having heard the Focal Diablo Utopia together with the EM (Electro-Magnetic ) subwoofer at the show, I was amazed by how much improvement it (subwoofer) has done to the soundstage, dynamics and presentation of the Diablo Utopia.  In the past, we have customers who suggested that Diablo doesn't have enough bass.  With the EM subwoofer, the Focal Diablo Utopia together with the EM subwoofer is easily one of the best sounding system at the show, regardless of the size including other big floor standing speakers.

The TAD shows a surprising large, full, transparent and beautiful sound from its TAD Evolution One three-way floor stand speakers.  It is also the first time I heard the TAD's own electronics, and the synergy is simply impressive.  This is one of my top 10 nominee for the Best system at the Show.
