The Lyra Delos continues to build momentum in the market place and our distributor continues to be in a perpetual state of back order with this cartridge. Adding fuel to the fire, I am receiving reports that the August review of the Delos by Michael Fremer is beginning to be received by Stereophile subscribers. In his review, Michael comments on the merits of the Delos relative to the Skala and Helikon models, confidently reporting that the Delos closely approaches the richness and bass depth of Skala while delivering Lyra’s classic transient speed and dynamic structure from the Helikon. That’s quite bridge to cross at $1,500 and goes a long way to explaining the success of the Delos. Look for another Delos review in the near future… Disco Inferno!
If you are interested in the Lyra Delos, please don't wait, as our very limited stock don't last. It'll be weeks or months, maybe, before the next available shipment arrives.
I have to apologize for my next bit of news. In our earlier conversation with some customers, I told them that Dorian would be discontinued before year’s end. I guess the year ended sooner rather than later in Tokyo.
We just received word that Dorian is now gone and unfortunately we do not have any in stock. Lyra’s goal for the Dorian was to create interest in Lyra at the least possible cost, but they were always nearly underwater with the model. The production requirements for Delos, and now Kleos make it impossible to continue making the virtually zero profit Dorian. Again, sorry for the “it already happened” announcement. |
