Jason has been an Acapella fan for years, from the Fidelio to Harlekin, and now with the Violon. Jason's system is simple, but no compromise. It has to meet the demand of both 2 channel as well as home theaters.
The system consists of:
-
Accapella Violon
-
Audionet CD player
-
Audionet preamp
-
DIY integrated amplifier
-
SME20 / Dynavector XV-1s
In a living room approx. 13x10; some may argue that it's a bit of small space for the horn. In fact, Jason's system was just right. The mid/high was so beautifully neutral and transparent; it was able to fill the whole room with lushness and sweetness. The soundstage was from wall to wall with great depth. I was mostly impressed with this CD: New Orleans Heartbreaker's.... with the Mardi Gras. It transform the whole room into a Jazz club. The vocal and instruments were so real that I thought I was just sitting in front of the band.
I asked Jason what does he think of his system? He says he likes the German audio (Audionet / Acapella) because they are very neutral. It reveals what the recording is all about; whether it is a good or bad recording.
