Silent Server
While many of PS customers and forum readers know about the upcoming Silent Server, what they don't know is that it's far closer to being a production ready product than most suspect. In fact, PS audio will show a working model of it at the CEDIA show.
The Silent Server is a small dedicated server that will help make the PerfectWave DAC / Bridge music streaming combination an easy install and a joy to use.
About the size of the original Apple TV, the Silent Server acts much the same as a NAS (Network Attached Storage) but instead of built in hard drive storage, the customer can attach as many USB hard drives and memory sticks full of music to the SS as they wish. Installation is a snap. Connect to your router with an Ethernet cable, plug into the AC socket and you're done. The Silent Server will find any PerfectWave Bridge and controllers and automatically connect without any user interaction.
The Silent Server is projected to retail for $799 or it is bundled with the bridge for $1199. The perfect pair for creating a high-end music server.
P3 Power Plant
This new lower cost entry will be a full size P5 PerfectWave chassis without a touch screen (it'll have an LED based screen) and the same number of outlets on the rear. Similar to the very successful P500 Power Plant of a couple of years ago, the new P3 will have unlimited wattage for the entire system through a protected and filtered high-current output zone, plus three more fully regenerated zones that produce up to 500 watts of continuous power and 50 amp peaks. Customers can run any size system from this new Power Plant.
