Description:
In 1948, RCA came out with the "Special Red" line of ultra-reliable tubes. Rather than just a slightly modified receiving tube, the Special Red types were designed from the ground-up with high purity materials, extra rugged construction, premium processing, and thorough testing. The 5692 was the Special Red version of the 6SN7GT, and was made by RCA and CBS-Hytron. Only the RCA tubes used the red base. The construction is simply impressive.
